Seller: mostlyglass (2,235) 100%, Location: Beaverton, Oregon, Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 254291856923 I had an appraiser look at this chair and he said it is probably at least a hundred years old and was originally intended for women because the seat is low and lacks arms to accommodate the voluminous dresses women wore in the late nineteenth/early twentieth centuries. It is oak and has been refinished and recaned. Most of the pieces were hand-fitted rather than screwed together. It is in good condition overall and is very sturdy. Both rockers have wear underneath from use. There is an old solid repair to the left brace where the top screw attaches to the lower back (see last two pics). Would make a great doll's rocker for a girl's room.Available for local pickup only in Portland, Oregon.
