This listing is for an antique French sewing box.
The box was made in the Napoleon III style and dates to the first half of the 19th century
The box is made from wood with a lacquered outer and ornate boulle inlay throughout. The front is adorned with mother of pearl inlay
The box opens up to reveal a tray with various sewing tools and spools.
The tray can be removed to reveal a lower
Most interesting is the secret compartment
When the front is folded down, 2 lower drawers are revealed
There are various antique sewing tools and hooks in the box. They are included
The box has initials inlaid in the top
The box appears to be in overall good condition. Some signs of normal wear and age are present, such as repairs to the wood and a few sections of missing brass inlay. The skeleton key has gone missing over the years, but the box is unlocked
