Cast iron snow bird c 1800's
This bird was found while patching leaks in our barn. We live in rural Maryland on a farm that dates to 1780-1820. Found in an old metal bucket. No idea how long they were in the barn or where they had been used on a rooftop to hold back snow. I have a few others if you need more than the 2. They show some areas of rust and are a textured surface that feels like sand. They are heavy- about 2 pounds each. I am happy to send more pictures or provide more details about location on request. They are currently priced according to others found online but we are taking a few to a dealer in DC to make sure we have the price set accordingly. I am happy to share some history- it was a fun find!
