Seller: mikeygee77 (96) 100%, Location: Costa Mesa, California, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 173936969342 Up for auction is an Amazingly Cool, Antique, Art Deco, General Electric F-63 Radio that was made in 1937. The bold, streamlined, waterfall cabinet is the epitome of Art Deco style!! The way the speaker grille and the pinstriping ties in with the waterfall profile is awesome!! I have researched fairly extensively, and as far as I can tell everything on this thing is original. And it all works!! Condition: -Powers on, Lights Work, All Knobs/ Dials are Present and Working, Able to Receive Signal, Speaker Sounds Great. Tubes Seem Strong (although unsure because I don't have a tube tester). Cabinet Wood is Solid, Speaker Mesh is Good. Antenna cord is Good. Even the power cord is original and is in perfect condition! **Also even includes the original screws and hardware....Everything on this radio is in good working condition. *As you can see in the pictures, there is some paint flaking on the trim. -This machine doesn't NEED restoration.....But IF you wanted this machine to be in completely restored condition, there are a couple things you can see, right off the bat, that would need to be done. 1) The first one is the flaking lacquer on the bottom and top trim. 2) The second is the dial cover plate. Nothing is missing or anything, it just needs some cleaning. The face plate itself is a little dirty, the Plexiglas could use a polish (Novus Plastic Polish #2 works great!), and the brass trim could definitely use a polish. I almost decided to polish the brass, but I wanted to leave that decision up to the new owner (some people like the patina look, and some people want brass to look new). Also, the finish on the cabinet is still intact, but a bit dry and there are some scratches here and there. Overall really really good condition though, especially for it's age, and again this would be a very simple fix. All you would need is to hit it with a little Howard's Restor-a-Finish, and it would be good as new. Both of these would be simple restorations. There is a video and description online of how to do them, and it shows how a guy did a complete restoration on a machine that was completely thrashed and not working. Again, I just wanted to leave the decision of whether to do any restorations, or not, to the new owner. My reasoning is because when it comes to the "how to" of cleaning and/or restoring antiques, there really is ONLY ONE correct answer. The only real answer of how to and when to do it is, however and whenever it's owner wants to! -Ok so the simplfied version of all that is this: I'm thinking that this would be perfect for 2 different types of buyers. One would be someone who just likes it the way it is, doesn't mind a little chipped paint/dirt on the dial cover plate, and wants a super cool vintage radio. The second type of buyer would be someone who wants this particular radio, in fully restored condition. If this is you, the good news is that it barely needs any work, so it would just be a couple very simple, easy steps to achieve full restoration. ***Please read before purchasing!!!*I have tried my absolute best to give an honest and thorough description of the condition of this radio. Please examine the photos carefully and/or ask me any questions that you may have, before deciding on whether or not to purchase/make an offer on this item. I am not a professional electronics dealer or antique dealer, but it does seem to be working perfectly. I WILL NOT accept returns on this item. Unfortunately there has been a lot of part swapping/ item swapping going on lately, and this makes it too risky to accept returns on vintage items. So this item is being sold as is. Thanks very much, and Happy Bidding!!! Condition: Used, Condition: Very Good Condition!!.....All Original Parts, and Works Great!!, Country/Region of Manufacture: United States, Brand: General Electric
