This coin was most likely struck in Sicily by King Hieron. The obverse features alaureate head of Zeus facing right. Reverse, eagle standing left with a dotted border. King Hieron of Syracuse, Sicily was fighting Carthage at this time circa 269 BC. And he likely requested help from his Egyptian ally Ptolemy who sent soldiers along with a large supply of bronze for minting coins to pay the troops. Extremely rare. AU strike 5, surface 4.
