Seller: brontabella (1,471) 100%, Location: San Diego, California, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 283617671932 Here is a hand carved/chiseled stone tile from a palace near Damascus Turkey which was demolished. In a floral pattern. The tag on back states it is from a building built circa 1400 AD. This architectural salvage piece is enclosed in a beautifully crafted frame made of dark wood, possibly mahogany or walnut. It is a heavy piece weighing approximately 5.5 pounds. The stone tile measures 6.75" x 6.75". Frame measures 11" x 11". In great condition for its age with some chips and cracks to the stone. Overall, it is still holding its shape and beauty. I estimate the framing of the piece was done over 30 years ago based on the age of frame and paper sticker (it could be longer). Most likely acquired by a collector during travels. However, the historic provenance is unknown. It would make a great display piece of ancient history from the Ottoman Empire's architectural period. Condition: In great condition, Provenance: Ownership History Not Available, Material: Stone
