BC Offered is an exquisite pair of ancient Greek Attic (Athenian) unguentaria fragments with intact bottom parts from ca. 4th century BC. They have the characteristic spindle shape for these types of vessels. They can both stand in an upright position with extra care. Vessels like that were often used in the household or in funerary situations and were used as containers of oil. These are splendid and delicate pieces, ideal for a collection, an impressive gift or a first-class home decoration. Dimensions: 9 cm (3.5 in.) tall and 3.5 cm (1.4 in.) wide in the middle for the one on the right and 7.5 cm (3.0 in.) tall X 3 cm (1.2 in.) wide for the one on the left. They weight together 51 grams (1.8 oz). Provenance: old private collection. They are both guaranteed to be authentic. In both bottles the top parts are missing but the bottom parts are intact. One of the two bottles has been reconstructed from smaller parts. The bottles pictured are the ones you will receive so please examine all pictures carefully.
