High quality decorative bronze/brass Sun burst and floral pattern Mortise Lock set manufactured by Reading Hardware Company from around c.1880, RHCo stamped (see pics). All parts are in fine working condition and have very little usage wear, nicely designed with fine details, great patina and original finish. This lock assembly features a rare lock/unlock slide tab on the face of the lock, which when moved, it throws an internal lock that will keep both knobs from turning when in the locked position. The matching turn latch key on the inside will over ride this lock. This lockset also has a dead bolt, but would need a key to operate. This lock has a reversible latch, so this set can be used on either side of the door.DIMENSIONS: Door lock Assembly Decorative Plate is 6-7/8" L x 1-1/16” W, and the Lock Assembly attached to it is 4-3/4" L x 3-3/8" W Interior and exterior door knobs are 2-1/4" DiameterLarge outside door knob cover plate is 7-7/8” L x 1-7/8” WInside door catch plate is 1-7/8 L x 1-1/8"W From face of lock to center of knob is 2-1/2" All plates line up with key holes. This door hardware set was removed from a large older Victorian home in Jamestown, NY, about 40 years ago, that was scheduled to be demolished for a new roadway. Any questions, please ask.
