Seller: galleryofthegreatestthings (1,138) 100%, Location: Hillsboro, New Mexico, Ships to: Americas & many other countries, Item: 153639021708 A beautifully preserved antique ladies hand-sticthed leather eyeglass case dating Ca. 1880 - 1900. This artifact came to New Mexico during the mass gold rush during the latter part of the 1800’s to the early years of the 1900’s. It was given as a gift and put away in the drawer of a vanity table until recently when the current owner now in her 80’s found it under some old manuscripts. It had no great sentimental value to her since she knew nothing concerning its history so she asked me to sell it for her and I agreed. Intact relics from the period are few and far in between. It measures 6” by 3” and is mounted in a shadow box which makes the total size 8” by 5 3/4” overall. It is a great find for lovers of “The Old West.” I have not seen another and I grew up in the Great Southwest. This would make a great gift to be displayed on a wall or table. Condition: Excellent given its age, Material: leather, Provenance: Ownership History Not Available
