Gorgeous , antique, exterior door salvaged from an old, home in
Northeastern PA.
The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine. The door is painted on
both sides.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft
wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the
same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant
qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years
old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than
young pine .
The door has a single window with a large, beautiful,
Wavy glass lite. There are 3 panels below the glass.
The door has a
doggy door installed in one of the bottom panels, we could remove the doggy door
and restore the panel to what it originally use
to look like-- message

Hardware : The
door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good
selection of hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store).

Uneven Width: The
door was unevenly cut by 1/2". The cuts were most likely made to compensate for
a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even
height/width, build it up to be taller/wider, or even cut it to be
narrower/shorter-- message

Condition :
The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only
has nicks and scratches, but no rot, warp, or any other serious issues.
Most of the blemishes
that it has will
disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and
whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks."
All of the glass is also intact and in great shape with only subtle scratches
Swing : The
hinge mortises span the thickness of the door allowing you to define its swing
letting you install your hinges on either side.
Modification : We
could also modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or
width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us
