Seller: pennantique (3,678) 98%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: US, Item: 264023462387 Penn Antique Restoration 29.5"x77" Antique Victorian Door w/5 Raised Panels Rare, interior door salvaged from an old home in Eastern Minnesota. It is made of solid chestnut and is painted white on both sides. The door also has a lovely, Victorian style 5 raised, panel arrangement on both sides. Chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900 & 1908, which made the North American chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store. * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Uneven Height: The door's height was unevenly cut at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut it to an even 76 1/2", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make them bigger--email us for a quote. Condition: The door is in great shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. The door is strong, sturdy, and ready for another 100+ years of service. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the right. However, we could change it to swing towards the left--email us for a quote. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace wooden panels with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
