Item:263969929346First time this 19th century walking plow has been offered for sale: The walking plow appears to have ALL original parts (no replacements or refurbishments except maybe a bolt on the cross-arm). The evidence strongly suggests it dates from the latter half of the19th century, as the iron/steel beam has an 1863 patent date forged on it. The only other writing is a faded, stenciled name on the side of one of the wooden handles that is hard to decipher, but seems to read "Belmont" or at least "____mont". Have not been able to find this name as a manufacturer of walking plows, but my research has not been exhaustive, either. As an example of an authentic, horse-drawn walking plow that probably spent many grueling hours turning over the sod in the nineteenth century (most likely in upstate New York), you will be richly rewarded with authenticity. This is the real deal.Condition:As you may expect, this item proudly proclaims its vintage with the wear and tear that a used farm implement would sustain with use for its intended purpose., Type:Plow, Material:Wood & Metal, Original/Reproduction:Antique Original, Decade:Pre 1890, Color:Medium Wood Tone, Maker:Belmont?
