On June 29, 1957 Harrison was made a stop on Air Mail Route 81 between Saint Louis, Missouri and Fayetteville, Arkansas. An official cachet was authorized at Harrison.

This cover was   carried on the inaugural Air Mail Route 81 flight from Harrison, Arkansas to Fort Worth, Texas (where it was backstamped) and is listed in the Contract Air Mail Flights (CAM) Section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as 81S65.

Effective October 1, 1967, Central Airlines and Frontier Airlines were merged with Frontier Airlines being the survivor company. The certificate for the operation of Air Mail Route 81 formerly held by Central was reissued to Frontier and although Air Mail Route 81 retained its identity, Frontier assumed route authority effective this date.
