Seller: wonderfultreasures! (6,082) 100%, Location: Carson City, Nevada, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 133064254893 This is a VERY BEAUTIFUL, GRACEFUL and VERY ELEGANT antique Victorian silverplated tilting water pitcher, cooler or jug and it is a PRESENTATION PIECE! It is signed "Reed & Barton" in quite a few places! VERY ORNATE and DETAILING ALL OVER this FABULOUS piece! Floral and geometric patterns, ribbing, scrolls, just GORGEOUS! On the front under the ORNATE spout it notes: "PRESENTED To Mr. & Mrs. J.D. Robbias, By Friends Universalist Society Augusta, ME 1889." On the bottom of the pitcher it notes: "Mf'd & Plated By Reed & Barton Patented Aug 4, 1868, May 13, 1878 (made)." Also signed in several other places. FANTASTIC repousse and other ORNATE DETAIL all over! Measures 19 5/8" to the top of the handle by 11" wide at the pitcher. Base measures 10 5/8" in diameter and 13 3/4" diameter from the base including the cup holder. HUGE and VERY HEAVY! Condition is REALLY GREAT on the silverplate with no dents and very little tarnish (a little inside but not bad too) and missing only the cup and the drip plate in the photos. It would fill the opening in the stand below the pitcher to catch any water that drips from the spout, down the pitcher. (It protects the table from drips.) The lid unscrews (one screw is missing but the remaining one holds it together just fine) and the ceramic liner is removable for cleaning. The ceramic liner is a little discolored around the outside base foot and a little on the spout. There is a small crack on the outside of the base on the foot of the ceramic insert but it does NOT go inside and it is fine for liquid. (please see last photo) Few light scratches but not bad considering this is 150 years old and looks absolutely TERRIFIC!!
