Seller: antiquestuffandnonsense (1,894) 100%, Location: Calais, Maine, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 292919858482 This is a special woven tapestry portiere or doorway curtain from about 1880-1900. It's cotton and something. Could be silk, could be early rayon (which went into widespread use after the 1880s) but who cares it's soft and elegant and measures 46" W X 89"Long and has a rod pocket-there are weak spots and fading as shown. This should be lined and used as a wall hanging, a portiere as it was intended or a throw worthy of the biggest Arts and Crafts Era like a Bernhardt. I often use orphan panels like this one to make throws and they sell in a flash people love them. I'll be listing a ton of fun things this month so please check my other listings.
