One of his many publications was a several volume history of travel and voyages entitled 'Naaukeurige versameling der gedenkwaardigste zee - en land reisen' published between 1705 and 1711. Other publications included his 'Nouvel Atlas' and 'La Galerie Agreable du Monde' This splendid map of Champagne in north eastern France comes from 'La Galerie Agreable...'. It stretches from Rocroy in the north to Auxerre in the south east and Langres in the south west. The area shown includes the famed wine region of the same name. The map shows why his cartography has proved so popular among collectors with superb, clear engraving, despite the immense detail and a gorgeous vignette title in the top left and a decorative frame. The map measures 10" by 15", has fine hand colouring, a centrefold and is in very good condition. The map is guaranteed to be over 280 years old.
