These beads are found on Neolithic sites that produce the stone tools. The beads are of uartz, which is very hard to work. It is 7 of 10 on Mohs hardness scale. A diamond is a 10. These relics were found in the western Sahara desert. These beads are not the quartz disk beads but more of a 'donut; shaped and drilled from both sides as was performed in the Neolithic. Most are 3/8th to 7/8th inch (15 -21 mm), some a little larger, others a little smaller.See picture with the penny for further idea of scale, not part of the auction.
