c1875 Fine Copper & Brass Kettle by William Soutter & Sons

A beautiful finely made copper and brass medium sized kettle in very nice condition. The kettle has a traditional Georgian shape with a copper body, a brass lid collar band and carrying handle, which in turn has a turned wood grip. The base has the maker's stamps of W. S. & S. B., for William Soutter & Sons, Birmingham. The company was set up in 1870 and were based inn New Market Street until 1907 when they moved to Hockley. They closed down in 1927. Their wares are generally of a high standard. There are a couple of very small dents on the body, but otherwise condition is fine. Size: 24 x 13 x 21 cm (9 1/2 x 5 1/8 x 8 1/4 inches) Weight: 781g
