You're bidding on a pair of vintage electric "candle style" wall sconce lights - they are lightweight steel or aluminum, molded and airbrushed in a very early 1920s or 1930s Art Deco style - unmarked, but I obtained with some matching two-armed sconce lamps that were label marked on the back sides as " After Sunset Lightoliers". Each lamp has a single arm that extends out from the wall fixture into a candle motif - the unique element to these particular fixtures, though, is that the bulb fixture "seats" are greenish vaseline glass in a floral design. Note that I have provided a black light photo - they are real radium glass -which speaks both to the age and unusual nature of these pieces. Note that I have not tested these lamps - they appear to be fully wired, including on/off switches - but worst-case they don't look like they would be that hard to re-wire if need be. Also note that the candlestick cardboard tubes are a little beat, but I'm told you can find replacements for these at Home Depot and other hardware stores. Also note, these pieces are not exactly symmetrical - you may need to bend and tweak them a little to get them straight. Some scratch wear to the finish - see photos - but retain nice appearance and appeal. All that said, they are very unique, perhaps one-of-a-kind pieces at this point - they are about 10" long, 4" width, and about 5 1/4" front-to-back depth from the wall. Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of overall condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking! |
