Seller: stonehill1 (2,907) 100%, Location: Waxhaw, North Carolina, Ships to: US, Item: 201727599315 This is another treasure I am having trouble parting with. I have loved this fixture for many years! But, downsizing means paring down until it hurts and I think I am definitely in the "hurting" phase! LOL!When it was taken down it was working fine. Due to the fact it is a vintage piece I can not guarantee that it will work when it arrives at its new home. However I have no reason to think that it will not work. We remodeled it a bit so it could hang in a place other than over a table so it has a VERY long (6'-10'? I forgot to measure before I packed it up) chain with wiring woven through it. There is a switch located on the wire along the chain so you can hang it anywhere and just use the switch to operate it. Or, you could shorten the chain and wiring down, and hardwire it where you please with the addition of a canopy for the ceiling.I think it is in very good vintage condition but I think that everyone has a different definition of what "good" condition is, so I took a lot of photos, and will describe as much as possible, the things I see about it. I believe it might be a Chapman or other very high quality piece as it has such lovely detail and is made so well. The black, stenciled metal shade has one dent (that I had never noticed until now!) and there are some areas of slight discoloration on the white finish inside the shade. The black finish on the outside has faded somewhat, as has the gold stencilling. There are several areas where the paint has popped or there are chips in the black paint. I have tried to take photos of each of them and while they look enormous in the close up photos, in person they don't seem to show very much. To me, these imperfections enhance the antique "look" that it has, but if you are a person who wants something to look in "new" condition, then this is not the chandelier for you! :-) The shade measures 6" tall vertically from the ground to the top of the gallery. The top opening is about 8.25" wide, and the bottom is about 17.5" across the bottom. The candle covers on the three arms need to be replaced. The lovely detail of the brass in the center has a bit of tarnish or discoloration. I have not tried to polish those areas. Much of the brass is of a matte finish but several areas have a nice high polish with a few small areas of tarnish. The metal ring on which the shade sits has a lot of rust and paint loss. No one sees it, but if you hated it you could carefully paint or spray paint it back to the off white color it was when new. The over all height of the lamp, excluding the chain, is about 19" tall. The width is about 17.5" wide. I have packed the shade in its own box and put that in the bottom of a large, heavy box. The main body of the piece is in another box and the chain is in a zip lock bag. All of these are floating in a sea of packing peanuts (btw you might want to open this in the garage or someplace that can handle all the packing peanuts that will inevitably find their way out of the box when you open it! LOL!) The box weighs 16 pounds, but it is cheaper to send the two pieces this way than in two separate boxes.Take a look at the photos and see what you think. I have already packed the box so I can't go back in to check things, but I think the photos will be helpful enough. Email any questions. I use recycled and new shipping materials so I hope that is not a problem for you. Thanks for looking and happy ebaying! There is no way around the fact this is not inexpensive to ship. FedEx looks like the least expensive way, but keep in mind that the nearest FedEx office is quite a distance from me so it might add a day to the time it takes for me to get it started on its way to you! :-) Condition: In good vintage condition. Fading and some loss to gold designs. Some discoloration or tarnish on brass parts. Some paint loss on the ring that holds the shade. Black shade is faded with several areas of paint pops and chips. Overall appearance is one of "antiqued brass" and faded gold stencilling.
