MID CENTURY SYMPHONIC STEREOPHONIC HIGH FIDELITY CONSOLE STEREO
Up for sale is a SYMPHONIC HIGH FIDELITY STEREO CONSOLE with Swing Out speakers that has AM/FM radio and phonograph turntable. It plays 33/45/78 rpm records and is in fair condition for its age. The cabinet is made out of wood (maybe mahogany?) which has visible marks and scratches on it. Everything works perfectly, the AM/FM Tuner, all console knobs, automatic changer of the turntable, and turntable, and might need to warm up before playing. It is s probably from the 1950s or 1960's, but we're not sure of the year.
This is a unique piece because it has swing-out speakers. The speakers fold in for easy storage and then swing out for the full stereophonic sound effect - very cool and retro. Both the front of the console and the speakers are covered with a fabric-style mesh material. We believe that there is an additional speaker in the front of the console as well, but we're not sure.
The console stands at 38" Long, 17 3/4" wide and 16" deep, and is 22" tall. Console interior: 6" deep and 23 1/2" wide. The instrument console is 14" long and 8" wide. The turntable measures 12" x 13". There are four wooden legs with brass at their base. There are 2 side material-covered swing-out speakers, with atomic brass handles. They measure 12 3/4" wide, 20" high, and 5 1/2" deep.
There is a variety of age appropriate surface wear on the Stereo and Speakers, with nicks and scratches appropriate to age. There are no serious problems or damage. (Please see pictures) If you enjoy mid-century pieces, then this is a find!
We do our very best to describe items accurately and honestly and to clearly point out any possible damage or flaws. This piece has been sitting in a garage for several years. As many of the things we sell are in used, antique or estate condition they can be expected to show some signs of wear or imperfections.
