For your consideration today we have this terrific VINTAGE, FOOT LOCKER/ SHIPPING TRUNK, MILITARY METAL OVER WOOD ORIGINATING FROM THE SEWART (1941-1971) AIR FORCE BASE IN TENNESSEE. Trunk has seen it's better day but does show a ton of character. According to the shipping ticket this trunk belonged to TSGT Charles Drew of the 5th Aerial Port Squadron (APS). It is rare we can link an item to a GI but in this case we are able to do this with 99.9% certainty. Picture #2 shows Mr. Drew (we found the picture on his web memorial) as Mr. Drew passed on in 2001, last residence in Nashville. Mr. Drew's obituary noted he was part of the 5th APS (1960-1961). It appears that this trunk (#6 of 6) was destined for DREUX FRANCE. As the USAF operated at DREUX (interesting history if one should desire to research) circa 1952-1961. Metal clad over wood base. Trunk does show several small dents/rust/wear etc. Would be a marvelous display piece. Overall measures approx. 8 1/2" deep x 23 1/4" long x 12 1/4 wide. No key. Handle appears to be bakelite.

When you decide to buy an item from us we ask that you complete the paypal transaction as quick as possible. We have no control over transit times or any delays once the shipment has been picked-up or dropped-off with the carrier. If you live closer to the west coast (we’re in the east) and we provide ‘standard’ shipping your item will be coming by truck. We have found that it generally takes FEDEX 5-7 days to truck the merchandise across the country. We have found FEDEX to deliver the next day from our location to many locations in the northeast. If we charge you for ‘standard’ shipping and ‘expedited’ is within a few dollars on the high end…we generally will pay the extra money to give you better service.
We give you our word that we will ship all orders no later than the next business day (M-F). 7 out of 10 times we ship the same day as a bonus to you.
