This hinged silver cheroot case (tests as sterling) is decorated to the outside with a chased floral pattern that suggests a Middle Eastern or Asian region of manufacture, possibly Indian . The inside has individual spaces, and the case closes by means of a sprung catch to one side. This superbly forged item, which could also serve as a pill box or cigarette holder, or card case, remains in very g ood vintage condition with surface wear consistent with age and prior use, and would make a delightful present. There is a maker's mark to the inside of the case (see photographs) and a vacant cartouche to the outside.
