Working with a master craftsman, owner of Prestige Woodworking, - Capitol Salvage designed & partnered in building a custom kitchen out of architectural salvage. The kitchen is designed on a 20' x 20' salvaged fir floor. The flooring was salvaged out of a 19th century home in central CT. The counter tops are made from salvaged chestnut rafters from a circa 1840 home in Northeast, CT. The kitchen cabinets are made from salvaged wainscot & paneling out of late 19th century home & church both in NY state. The salvaged soapstone sink came out of central MA. The island is custom made with salvaged components and a repurposed butcher block section from a bowling alley. The master craftsman took inventory out our warehouse and created some amazing cabinets. The cabinet faces were made from salvaged 19th century oak baseboards. The cabinet doors upper & lower pieces, some where custom built, others cut to size. The counter tops, the salvaged chestnut, was plained, cut, glued and given an ebony stain. You can see more pictures of the kitchen as we set it up at a homeshow in Philadelphia, PA at: http://cs.capitolsalvagesteampunk.com/?p=1082 In addition - you can see a photo diary of the work from the beginning of this process showing many of the pieces we selected for this project in their original state - and over the course of the project, as they evolved into a more finished product at: http://capitolsteampunking.com/ The master craftsman used high grade quality cabinet interiors, hardware from vandykes.com, and top quality ball-bearing draw rollers. This kitchen has all the functionality & usefullness of a modern 21st century kitchen but is custom created using architectural salvaged components - gvinving it a very unique, yet authentic look. This listing includes all the cabinetry, counter tops, custom made island, flooring, hardware, soapstone sink, and if desired the circa 1870-1880 stain glass window. The two appliances shown here are for sale and am willing to provide the owners name. In addition, the lighting is created by an artist in Alberta, Canada and is also for sale.
