Seller: incatreasuresltd (1,577) 100%, Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 192018061637 This is a great old relic from the Hungarian Ukrainian region where the many old Celt cultures lived over many years and where there were Crossroads of many cultures. It was dug by a local collector of ancient relics in the Carpathian basin and he has even taken some u tube videos of some digging where he had found some items including coins etc. This piece is a sizable artifact of a Roman or Celt Axe that has lots of patina and color. It is old and the moist soil has given it an unique patina. It is one of several I purchased from the region. Nicely shaped and still intact. I have left some information he communicated to me below for interest sake about his activity. It dates back to about the early ages of 200BC-300AD AD. Many earlier items have come from this region as it was situated on trade routes in Eastern Europe even back to when the Romans had a presence there. I have sold a few and have two others left, one currently listed. I do have a small ritual bronze axe which has a tinge of green from age of the patina and breakdown of some of the metal in the wet earth. I would like to sell it as I have some other items I am looking at. This will be certain to please. Culture: Celtic/Roman, Carpathian Basin near Ukrainian border CA: 200BC-300AD Size: 6 inches long, 2 1/2 inches across blade. weight is 2 pounds 8 ounces. Provenance: ex: E. The seller finder states in hunting for these: We're recording our videos using LG Smartphone, 7 inch. And we're recording when we are 100% sure that we are digging something valuable. This is why hands are shaking... worries, gambling feeling, adrenaline rush. We used to record when there was a good signal but it was pure garbage at the end. As for halberd: our lands were crossed by different armies from east to west. because our mountains are relatively small. Sites are to be found on plains. But we got all private agricultural fields on plains and we're doing our walks in forest areas. Our forests are public... yet. Celts loved to settle at this kind of places. First, you won't get flood on uphill. It was quite "watery" here back then. Lots of mountain rivers with fish. Forrest were full of game. Now everything is dry. The main guidelines are, of course, barrows. Barrows are basically Celtic Burial sites - small hills, about 2-3 meters high. It would be much better to dig those. Barrows contain mainly ritual artifacts and few other things. We know about 73 of Celtic barrows. Only druid barrows have some value. Although, we don't know which barrows are druid ones. All druids had golden torques. When Celts buried deceased they included all his/her belongings together with ashes. Our Celts burned bodies. Torques would be a jackpot. Check the internets. Around all the Europe people dug numbers of barrows and European museums contain these artifacts which were excavated in barrows only. We have idea how to materialize such finding but as usually everything depends on money. ……right now it's very difficult, from economical perspective, to live here. Because of this treasure hunting became too popular - everyone thinks they'll buy detector and will find stash with golden coins. Feels like history repeats itself in some manner - talking about USA's Gold Rush era in Alaska. So, we try to keep things silent, no advertisement for our findings and videos.
