Item:231449095454Reproduction Civil War Style Ladies Slat Bonnet. Presented here is a reproduction of a slat bonnet from the civil war era. Ladies wore this type of bonnet when working, to protect their face and neck from the sun. The bonnet is constructed from a pattern drafted from an existing period bonnet in a museum collection. This bonnet is made from a period correct 100% cotton fabric in a brown floral stripe print. Slats are made using recycled pasteboard, as were original bonnets, and are removable for easy laundering of the bonnet. The bonnet ties with self fabric ties, and is adjustable to head size with self fabric ties in the back. All of our bonnets are sewn on an antique Willcox and Gibbs sewing machine, giving a correct period stitch to the bonnet. Shipping weight of package is 1 lb. We do not ship internationally.
