This antique Swedish-made salt/flour box is a primitive folk art kitchen piece from the 1800s. Its half-octagon shape and intricate design make it a rare find in the world of vintage boxes. It was found in our old 1800’s Vermont farmhouse kitchen and hung for many years . I used it for storing loose herbs but it can be used for any purpose .
This wonderful box has a old painted black finish on front and top the back and bottom displays the bare beautiful aged wood grain. There is a small splinter of wood missing on the left side top area and this does not take from the beautiful hand crafted piece. This box can stand freely on a counter or hung on the wall it measures 9 1/2 inches high and 8 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches deep.
