It is one of the earliest examples. Their use was relatively short-lived due to the need for re-signing caused by the never-ending rebuilding, new building and colour coding alongside the integration with new bus, train, urban train and other lines.If you Google online images you might find some similar. You would be extremely lucky to find any ever offered for sale.Rue Gaston de Saint-Paul is an exclusive residential private and part-gated road running a short distance north from the banks of the river Seine and off Avenue de New York. It was owned by the C19th Baron Gaston de Verbigier de Saint-Paul. Most of the large properties were built around 1860. It faces the Eiffel Tower on the bank opposite.It is just to the south-west of the Alma-Marceau Metro station (opened in 1923) and is the nearest road that directs you in that direction only (ie westward on Ave de New York along the banks of the Seine). It is centre bottom of the Metro map shown.Made from vitreous enamel fused onto sheet steel. Heavy gauge - unlike modern versions it can't be bent easily. Very durable.
