The Pocket Air Check gas leak detector is a portable, battery operated, solid-state instrument intended for use in applications requiring detection of combustible gas leaks. Handheld and highly sensitive, the Pocket Air Check makes finding gas leaks as easy as using a flashlight and at a fraction of what other portable detectors cost. The Pocket Air Check is a toolbox requirement for the HVAC technician, plumber, homeowner or anyone working with combustible gas installations, especially natural gas or propane. Remove the battery cover on the back of the unit and insert 2 AA batteries. Refer to diagram inside battery compartment. Press and hold the green On/Off button. The power and Alarm lights and the audible alarm will turn on. The Alarm light and audible alarm will continue until the sensor warms up. You must continue to depress the On/Off button for the Air Check to detect gas. Releasing the On/Off switch will power down the unit. Plase the sensor approximately 1/2" from the suspected leak. When checking a gas pipe connection, slowly move the sensor tip of the Air Check around the trhreads of the pipe or fitting. Check valve connections and the front and back of the valve stem. Check along the length of pipes and tubes for leaks. When gas is detected the Air Check Alarm light will turn on and the audible alarm will sound.
