M&W TURBOCHARGER KIT FOR JOHN DEERE 4010 4020 4040 4230 4240
You are bidding on a reconditioned, show-quality, complete and correct M&W turbocharger kit for the John Deere 4010/4020/4040/4230/ and 4240 diesel tractors. There were a total of 5 different M&W turbocharger kits offered for these 5 tractors, and I can build a correct kit depending on what model and year of tractor that you have. This kit is complete and includes all of the hardware needed to install the kit.
The turbocharger is a correct M&W Rajay turbocharger, with the M&W tag, which has been completely reconditioned with all new bearings, seals, and gaskets. The compressor housing and center section have been glass beaded and ceramic tumbled for a show-quality finish. The exhaust turbine housing is brand new, and has been primed and painted with a high-temperature ceramic paint in the proper satin black finish. The turbocharger is the larger E-flow Rajay design.
The exhaust manifold is a low-hour two-piece manifold, and has been completely remachined. The two-piece manifolds have a tendency over time to crack at the expansion joint, due to the two manifold halves being machined on different planes where the manifolds bolt to the cylinder head, which puts the expansion joint in a bind. I machine both manifold halves on the same plane, so that the expansion joint can work properly. The two-piece manifold is shotpeened, magnafluxed for cracks, and primed and painted with a high-temperature ceramic paint in the proper satin black finish.
The exhaust elbow is brand new, and has been upgraded to a thicker casting, which is less prone to breaking in the event that the exhaust pipe hits a tree limb. The exhaust flange is also brand new, and has been upgraded to an all-steel flange, which will not rot out or break like the original cast-iron flanges. All of the exhaust pieces are painted with a high-temperature ceramic paint in the proper satin black finish.
All of the intake pipes have been glass beaded and clear-coated. The exhaust heat shield is brand new. All of the hoses, hose clamps, braided oil lines, oil filter, gaskets, brackets, fittings, bolts and hardware are brand new. This kit does come with the M&W spin-on oil filter assembly. This kit also inlcudes the M&W installation and parts list manual, which contains detailed pictures that show step by step how to install this turbocharger kit. This kit does NOT require a new exhaust hole or modification of the existing exhaust hole in the hood.
The stock John Deere 4020 is rated at 94 PTO HP; the 4040 is rated at 90 PTO HP; the 4230 is rated at 100 PTO HP; and the 4240 is rated at 110 PTO HP. This turbocharger kit can safely increase the horsepower of these tractors to as far as 150-160 PTO HP with little to no exhaust smoke, with the proper fuel delivery setting at the injection pump. I do highly recommend installing a straight exhaust pipe on this turbocharger kit, to remove any exhaust backpressure on the turbocharger. I have brand new chrome exhaust pipes available, as well as exhaust pyrometer kits available, for the finishing touch. The chrome exhaust pipes are 48" long, and come as either a straight pipe with a chrome rain cap, or with a curved end, and sell for $185 each. The exhaust pyrometer kits come with a chrome mounting cup, and sell for $315, and a dual exhaust pyrometer/ turbo boost gauge with a chrome mounting cup sells for $365.
We can rebuild/ recalibrate your fuel injection pump to match the fuel delivery of your injection system with the increased airflow of this turbocharger kit. We can also recalibrate your fuel injection pump and make the fuel delivery adjustable externally on the pump, which is popular with people who use their tractors for field work, yet want to tractor pull with it on the weekends. With the external adjustment, horsepower can be increased or decreased with one adjustment in less than 2 minutes. We also have upgraded injector assemblies available for these engines as well. NOTE: The turbocharger kit in the pictures is a model T-24 kit for the 4010 and early 4020 that I sold. The turbocharger is a smaller F-flow Rajay, and the manifold is a one-piece. The kits that I have available will be of the same quality as the kit pictured.
