This auction item is a unique and rare limited edition hand colored print. This print is not only a reproduced by the artist, it was hand colored by the artist with acrylic paint. You can feel the texture of the paint of this print which makes it as close to an original as you will get. The artist also painted to the outside mat giving it a better three dimensional look.This print comes single matted and measures 9 inches wide by 8 inches high. The image is 5 inches wide by 4 inches high extended onto the mat. This is a unique addition to a regular print or painting that the artist likes to add to his remarqued prints.
John Lewis Egenstafer
Born 1943 in Philadelphia, he studied art at Glassboro State College (Rowan University) in New Jersey, attaining a Master’s Degree in Art Education. He was the Dean of Instructors at the Township of Franklin School System. A follower of the style of American realism he conveys the feeling and the atmosphere of the Pine Barrens in New Jersey where he resides and creates images in his studio. He is a member of the Royal Society of Arts, London, England.
Laguna Originals of Laguna Beach, California published his earlier works in the 70s and 80s where he created over 100 images for them which were distributed internationally. John was also member of the New York Pallette Club where he created images which were sold by them. Egenstafer’s work can be found in collections of Carol Burnett, Diane Vincent, Marion Florin, Ricky Ricardo, Jr., Bing Crosby family, among other actors and actresses along with the Chase Manhattan Bank, Rohm and Haas, and Exxon Corporation.
He has had numerous one man art shows and exhibits at the following galleries: Newman Galleries, Phila., Pa., Gallery at the TAJ, Atlantic City, NJ, Fidelity Arts, Beverly Hills, Ca., Michelyn Gallery, Pa., Burlington Fine Arts Gallery, Burlington, NJ., Herbert Arnot Gallery, NY, Leopold Landsberger Gallery, NY. He has been featured in numerous publications including Fusion Magazine, NJ. and promoted by Fidelity Arts of Beverly Hills, Ca.
His prints and originals are still available through J Getsinger Art Studio in Woodbury Heights, NJ.
