KLH Model Forty Reel To Reel Tape Recorder with Dolby B This is a 7" reel to reel recorder. Henry Kloss and Ray Dolby were involved in the design of the Dolby B unit. The KLH Model Forty was made in 1968 and sold for $600.00. This unit has seen very little use. The rewind and fast forward functions are working. Play is not working. But the heads do move into place. The capstan does not turn. It can be turned by hand. The dolby test switch gives meter movement. This is from the second owner that owned it since 1976.
The stop switch cover is missing. It can be stopped without the stop switch cover. The heads and pinch roller are in very good condition. The case is real Walnut veneer and does have a few small chips. This is a very heavy unit and will include the Manual with large fold out Schematic drawings.
Because the recorder is not working totally, it will be sold as is for repair.
