Very good condition original Imperial German Model 1871 Mauser bayonet that is clearly manufacturer marked GEBR. WEYERSBERG on the blade and dated 1875 on the spine with Imperial German proofs. This hard to find early piece is also unit marked to a Reserve Infantry Regiment on the left side of guard-46.R.R.3.107. Full length blade is quite clean overall and has nice looking original bright metal finish with a few spots of brown and a sharpened edge. Guard also has nice original bright metal finish. Brass has good looking smooth even color and visible Imperial German proof marks on the pommel. Lock spring functions fine. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brass throat and tip. Leather body has good form and shows some flaking to finish. Stitched seam is nice and tight. Bayonet is also complete with correct original leather frog. Leather is soft and supple with some wear and scuffing, stitching and rivets are nice and tight. A nice example of this very hard to find early Imperial German M1871 Mauser bayonet rig that will make an outstanding addition to your collection.
