50 years old spruce violin II Cremonese Joachim 1715 Stradivari
|
Liu Rongguo instruments bring together the best in materials, design and construction to create the powerful, expressive sound sought by soloists and professional ensemble players. Master Liu personally crafts these
instruments, beginning with his selection of acoustically vibrant curly
maple and spruce from carefully aged stock. His craftsmanship includes
precise arching and graduations and a unique mineral ground and varnish
treatment that gives each instrument its timbre and Bel Canto voice,
similar to that of the fine Italian masters.
Tonewoods used for Violins were carefully
selected from Northern China and southern Sichuan. Spruce of particular
resonant quality grow in isolated stands on the slopes of the Snow mountain, Sichun also has had centuries of disciplined logging practices and
growing seasons resulting in maple logs of straight, tight grain and beautifully
flamed figure. The tonal qualities of these woods have been prized by many china luthiers, it provide great sound choice and more economical option comparing to the Europe tonewoods.
The process of designing a model takes many stages, a process which has evolved over the past 30 years for his work. He studies in depth by making exact copies of many of the most beloved historic instruments, including instruments from makers such as Stradivari, the Guarneri family, Goefriller, the Amatis, Guadagnini, etc.

This is in our top grade,
best china tonewood and exlusive varnish, craftwork with Acoustic wave Vibration Science
Although the Cremonese makers created different models and arches, their
instruments have in common a depth and richness of sound that is best described
as a Bel Canto voice. This was due to the application of an opaque mineral layer
which became transparent when impregnated with varnish. This coating on an
instrument's surface accentuates the color-palette of sound, while filtering the
shrill overtones.
These principles and traditions are alive in the violins of our top grade series.
The violin has excellent sound, bright and beautiful tone, very great projection, and great bass. It is still little muffled in its first playing and
it will be much open after some time, only excellent violin will have this
characteristic. It is a perfect violin in vision and hearing !
It is made by single maker follow the same process as the old masters by
constantly exprimenting with size, proportion, and other variables to achieve
the best sounding violin possible.

One Experience for our Top grade
You remember the
latest violin I brought from you? The one with the lionhead scroll? I wasn't
going to use it for our concert last week, because I had some short orchestral
solos to play in the concert and did not feel that this violin would withstand a
full orchestral accompaniment. But a friend and colleague specially asked me to
use it, because he was so impressed with it at a previous orchestral concert
when I played a full solo on it! He said that it had the most beautiful tone and
texture - "like the best Chinese silk" - and such power that when I was playing
fortissimo "it nearly blew out the doors at the back of the hall", he said. So,
I took his advice.
At the rehearsal before the concert, my friend played it with a piano
accompaniment. I stood in the middle of the hall and I was absolutely amazed to
hear how it resounded - so silky bright, sweet and powerful. And the further I
moved back in the hall, the stronger it sounded. A horn player came up to me and
said how amazed she was by its tone and projection. You see, a violinist never
hears how the instrument sounds to the audience. And I always thought this
violin sounded a little weak (under my ear), although very nice. But that
demonstration convinced me totally just how wonderful your instruments are.
When I told you I was interested in another "top range" violin a few weeks
before this one came, you advised me to wait, because you felt that particular
violin was not good enough for me. And then when this one became available you
emailed me. You promised me that this was the best violin in your range and
better than another one of the same price, and I must say that you were true to
your word! Thank you so much for keeping my best interests at heart - you did me
a great service! I am absolutely delighted with this violin now, and I play it
now for all my solos, like in today's rehearsal with another orchestra, my solo
stood out clearly against a full orchestral tutti.
