8561E Spectrum Analyzer
Calibrated with fresh certificate upon purchase , we run the automated tam realignments here plus manual realignments.
everything measures dead on and works perfectly
free mass memory module with buy it now purchase preloaded with phase noise or spurious measurement utility software
if you need opt 7 fast adc time domain sweeps I have one for an extra 200$.
This is a 30 hz to 6.5 ghz hp spectrum analyzer , but with the optional mixers from someone else, you can achieve 40ghz + testing! or even up to 110 ghz with other mixers
this is a steal! you wont beat this price! opt 1 can be installed for no extra fee( 2nd if out) also I have opt 8 I can install on it as well for another 200$. with mixers which I can sell you for 200 to 600$ you can use this for 18 to 50 ghz ! 30 day warranty right of return exchange warranty! this is a NEWLY REFURBISHED 8561E model spectrum analyzer with brand new calibration and certificate/sticker traceable to nist
Also I can have the phase noise or spurious noise measurements installed on a free mass memory module before shipment for no extra cost! thats a 800 $ value !
First I realigned the loda amplitude and dual mixer alignment on the a14 board, then realigned the yig/yto and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum, then performed the ytf realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration and realignment according to the service manual . this unit performs like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, and frequency accuracy. my cal is much better than any cal lab's calibration because I run all the manual adjustments. they only run it thru a software program and realign the freq response(flatness) at most (if that). other companies like tmi just look at it and certify it automatically without even testing it thoroughly . . Overall the unit has no issues and comes with a right of return guarantee , for exchange for buy it now customers only . The process that I perform on my units would cost you at least 1500$ at any other dealer. Because I do all the usual calibrations plus all the adjustments. Even if you buy one on ebay calibrated or from a dealer calibrated, it wont include any manual adjustments and thus won't perform as precise . I'm sure of this because I have received many units from cal labs all over the country and none of them do any adjustments or realignments like me. Not to mention, all my units are refurbished which means cosmetically making them in as pristine condition as possible. I have never had a problem shipping this same unit around the world so far. so feel free to buy it now from any country. there wont be any problems and shipping will be the cheapest you will find guaranteed! mixers to extend freq from 18 to 40 ghz span for an extra 500$ which I can add into the buy it now price) and power cable. cosmetically its in excellent condition with only a few minor scuffs.
free mass memory module with buy it now purchases if needed , see below : **Pre-Owned Unit** - A companion Mass Memory Module, the Agilent 85620A / HP 85620A, plugs onto the rear panel. Use 128K bytes of built-in, battery-backed RAM of the HP 85620A to store at least 10 downloadable programs (DLP's) or more than 100 traces. This module has the capability to generate 'smart' limit lines to track the analyzers' settings and automatically adjust to the changes. With the built-in clock, auto-save, and auto-execute capabilities of the Mass Memory Module, the HP 8561A and 8562A/B can automatically make measurements at specified times or when specific frequency/amplitude criteria are met
. All buttons, knob, outputs , and inputs and both ref sources(rear 10 mhz ref and front 300mhz cal out ref) work great. crt is in great shape . Its still super bright and perfectly focused. frequency cal is dead on the money.
My calibrations should last at least 3 years, maybe 4 (depending on use) before needing a recal
Most common types of cal from companies like tmi, metrictest, teknet , test equipment connection, testmart, cal right,etc... :
type 1. Run the unit thru the test and adjustment module in the back with a software (one of 3 providers) that connects to a signal generator, splitter and power meter , and old style computer which merely tests the functionality of the unit and does not adjust any parameter in any way. the software gives a pass/fail if it performs within a wide gap of spec. (does not have to be accurate whatsoever to pass!) they then give you a cal certificate printed by the software stating if it passes or fails. the flatness accuracy can be within 6 db range of error! unacceptable!
type 2. Companies like TMI dont have any cal automated software (not that you need it if you know what you're doing and can afford to spend some extra time on it) , they just have a tech turn it on and go thru some basic routine to test functionality. I have had multiple units come to me from TMI and other cal labs with a new cal from them and it was more than 8 db off with many holes , frequency was wayyyy out of spec! not even close! and span accuracy was way out of spec because they had hardware defects ! yet somehow the units had cal certificates and they verified that it was indeed calibrated and passed with no issues within spec. this has happened many times between me and my partner and other colleagues , but tmi is not the only company out in the test equipment field that is notorious for this kind of service.
type 3. companies like cal right in san diego are actually legit cal companies. they can do a great job realigning the flatness with their software , even if its way off to begin with, they also include a data report printed by the software which can be tricky to interpret sometimes . (some of my units have this calibration when I need them to have data reports). they only do basic sytf realignment and flatness adjustment . there are about 6 to 8 other adjustments including frequency adjustment and span adjustments that need to be calibrated to ensure your analyzer functions like new again and there simply is not any cal company in the country that performs all the adjustments in their cal routine. If I use this company for cal , I first run all the extensive adjustments myself here at my cal lab and then send it out to them so they can generate a data report and have the verification by software that some companies demand. If you need this type of cal and this unit doesn't state it has a data report, you can pay an extra 500$ for it and I'll send it out for you.
Type 4. this is my cal routine and consists of r ealigning the loda amplitude and dual mixer alignment on the a14 board, then realign the yig/yto which is the span accuracy adjustment, and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum (10 mhz clock cal) ,then check and adjust the a16 board micro adjustment ,and verify the sampler on the a15 frequency synth board is where it should be , then perform the sytf (E series)/ytf(A series) realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration (which makes the amplitude across the spectrum dead on accurate ) and realignment according to the service manual but doing a secret technique I figured out from years of experience that allows me to program the analyzer to support up to 26.5 ghz without having the option 26 ! some analyzers may be only able to get to 26 ghz within spec after my flatness adjustment but most can get up to 26.5 perfectly within spec! Every analyzer you buy won't be able to peform past 22 ghz within spec without my adjustments, this is a huge added bonus for the unit that greatly increases its value and It's all free, no extra charge , included in the cal! .I also check all the voltages to make sure the power supply across all 8 boards are right on the money. and I also adjust the crt as well to ensure that you get the most brightness and focus as possible! (quite often I can convert a bad crt into a good crt with only a simple series of adjustments! ) my units will perform like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, span and frequency accuracy
