TRUE VINTAGE....CIRCA 1954....PAIR STYLIZED HARLEQUIN FIGURINES PLAYING MANDOLINS...MAN & LADY Pagliacci characters....Both with dramatic eye make up, red lips.  Her hair is swept from her face and his is very pompadour chic. They are dressed fabulous costumes of gold slippers, black billowing pants, aqua blue robes with oriental style kimono sleeves and with dramatic ruffled neck collars. They can sit on the edge of a shelf but most likely were meant to hang on a wall. There are metal circle hangers on the back of each figurine. They measure approximately 9" from top to bottom toe. Approximately 5 3/4" wide at the widest point. When hanging on the wall they stand away from the wall approximately 4 1/2" from the wall which looks very cool, very  three dimensional . Both figurines are marked on the side but the one on the boy is hard to read. On the side of the lady it reads; AMER ART IND 88 copyright circle 54. Over-all condition is very good, especially for their age. There is very slight loss of paint here and there but nothing eye catching. See photos to judge for youself and ask any questions.
