Antique Flask w/ Cork Small Colorful Personal Liquor Bottle Majolica French Man

This wonderful majolica figural face liquor bottle/flask (circa 1880-1900) features a smiling gentleman with a ruddy completion, brown hair and huge muttonchops. He is wearing a purple hat with turquoise detailing, which forms the opening and handle, and has a green collar behind his neck.

His friendly expression seems a bit mischievous to me - what trouble is he about to get into?

The bottle/flask measures approximately 4" in height and 2 1/2" across the base (though with the nose sticking out and the handle, the fullest width is slightly more than 3").

The base was covered with green felt at some point in the past 100+ years, to protect whatever furniture it may have been stored upon.

There are no cracks, chips or repairs. It still has the original cork stopper. There are imperfections, such as spots of red paint or unsmoothed clay. I'm amazed at the lack of crazing! I see another like this for sale for $195 that has crazing all over.

The inside is kinda yucky, but I leave it to the new owner to clean. Some might want to have that detritus in there - the remainder of some old drink - so I'd rather leave it.

I also buy online and understand how it is to purchase a product without seeing it in person, and how photos may be misleading (I thought my dog - a rescue - was half his size based on photos but I couldn't let him go to the shelter as everything else about him was just what I wanted in a dog 😄 ).
