This is a 1 Troy Oz. (it actually weighs 31.6 grams), .999 Fine Silver Art Bar minted by Coin Galleries Of San Fransisco in 1973 to honor Emperor Norton. Only 2,500 of this bar was minted, who knows how many have been melted. This silver bar is in very good circulated condition and will come protected in a soft vinyl sleeve. It is listed in the silver art bar guide book as number CGSF-2.
On the front at the top it says EMPEROR NORTON and at the bottom it says OF SAN FRANSISCO. In the middle is a detailed carving of of Emperor Norton. On the back at the top it says EMPEROR NORTON OF THE UNITED STATES AND PROTECTOR OF MEXICO. At the bottom it says in 2 lines COIN GALLERIES OF SAN FRANCISCO. ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER.
