Early Fender Squier Japanese Stratocaster !!! W@W !!!

USED, EXCELLENT CONDITION. Complete and - Almost - Original (I don't think (?) the GOTOH tuners, are original and I did replace the nut). Serial # is E - 798833.  Please note that this is supposed to designate 1984 - 1987 production.  This one has a 4-bolt neck and a "big block" bridge. The truss rod adjustment is located at the heel. I have not had the neck off, so I can't tell you what it says in the pocket.

The Body is in decent shape for a guitar this old ... there are a few dings (pencil eraser size or smaller) that didn't chip the paint, and there are a couple of good sized paint chips on the bottom edge, near and around the strap button (see pics). Also a couple of light scratchs on the back but NO buckle rash, There's Minor pick swirling on and near the PG. nothing that can't be easily polished out, if you are inclined to do so. I'd also note that it's glossier than the Pics show, There's no whammy bar pictured but it -IS- included. The 21 fret neck is slender, a slightly flattened "C" profile (not quite a "D") that's fast and articulate. The frets show some wear but nothing that interferes with playability, and tho it's not apparent to look at, there are some fingernail gouges in the fretboard at the headstock end of the neck.

I set the guitar up with med, low action, (fast but still easy to bend strings), intonation is perfect! It sounds - like a strat - Classic, great tone from lively wood. The pickups have flush polepieces and all meter at 4.4k. Squiers from this period are ACTUALLY the 50s - 60s repro Japanese Fenders that were judged not to LOOK suitable for a sunburst finish, they got painted black and labelled as squires. I think they used cheaper pickups in the squires, that's the only difference I'm aware of. These are some of the BEST FENDER GUITARS EVER MADE. It's an excellent example and plays like a dream, I used it for a few recordings, but it now spends most of the time in the closet around here and the closets kind of full. I have over 10 strats at the moment and it's time to send a few out into the world.
