Dug Early One Piece Navy Cuff Button From Civil War Site

Here is an early one piece Navy cuff button found in the Bermuda Hundred area just off Route 10 near Old Stage Road in Chester Virginia.  This button is easily identifiable but has considerable ground action around the outer edge.  I believe this is an 1812 period Navy but I am not certain.  I have found several of this period Navy at other Civil War battle sites.  A similar button can be seen on page 99 #86 AV in Albert's "RECORD OF AMERICAN HISTORICAL AND UNIFORM BUTTONS".
