Detective Comics #27 CGC 1.8 OW/W 1st appearance BATMAN Bob Kane DC Golden Age
Detective Comics #27 which introduced Batman to the world is easily the 2nd most desirable comic ever printed. With Batman's longevity, increased demand and popularity as compared with Superman in recent years, it appears that the gap in both price and importance has be closing between Detective #27 and Action #1. There are only 27 unrestored copies of this MEGA KEY golden age 1st appearance that have been certified in 12 years of CGC's existence. Of those 27 copies, only 4 examples fall in the "relatively affordable" grade range of 1.5 and 2.5. This example is one of those 4. The eye appeal and color strike are more beautiful than the assigned grade. Part of the reason for the beautiful page quality and appearance, is the fact that this example was stored in a box for 65 years in a cool climate. Its a rare opportunity to buy a fresh to market book of this caliber. This auction is NO RESERVE.

WHAT IS CGC?
CGC is the abbreviation for Certified
Guaranty Company, an independent grading firm that evaluates comics,
authenticate the
comic book as original and genuine, checks for any restoration work done to the
comics, gives each comic a condition
grade based on strict criteria and a 10 point scale, and then
encapsulates the comic book in a hard plastic, tamper proof holder with
an acid free inner with grade and paper quality prominently displayed on
the holder. As the most respected grading service in the comic industry,
CGC establishes a grade that both seller and buyer can agree on and
trust.
