Seller: pennantique (3,514) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 272468512580 Penn Antique Restoration Penn Antique Restoration Restored Antique Door Lockset w/Knobs, Plates, Lock, Key, & Screws Handsome, antique, Arts and Crafts style, interior door lockset salvaged from Southeastern Pennsylvania. The set consists of 2 steel knobs, 2 stamped steel escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with 1 working key, 1 steel strike plate for the door jamb, 1 spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs, and all 12 original installation screws to fasten the lock and plates to the door. Originally, all parts were copper plated and finished with a black lacquer ("Japanned"). Except for the escutcheons, the majority of the plating and finish wore off over the year. At the point of salvage, all parts were painted, dirty, and rusty (see "Prior to restoration" photo). Much time was spent removing the paint, and carefully cleaning and polishing all parts, trying to preserve as much of the plating and finish as possible. All parts have tiny nicks and light scratches here and there, which are common for hardware this old. Otherwise, all parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, chips or dents. The lock was opened, inspected, and we sprayed grease on and around all parts to facilitate their movement. We also made a key for the lock and we could make more for $8/key--email us after the auction if you are interested.
