This is the second cd/book in my series of reproduced children’s coverlet designs. All of the designs on the CD feature animals; Book 1 is all about children. 20 designs on a cd. Print only the pages you want to use. They can be enlarged using the poster setting on your printer.
Most of the originals were coverlets measuring 33 x 44 and were worked on cotton lawn, organdy or muslin. Many of the ones from the 20’s were on organdy or lawn. A number of these animal designs were also printed on pillows and laundry bags. The coverlet was purchased as a pre-tinted item and then embroidered by the purchaser. The techniques used differed depending upon the artistry and skill of the embroiderer.
You could complete the designs in Redwork, regular embroidery, or adapt to appliqué designs. Color with crayons or tint with inks or textile paints. You are only limited by your imagination! The designs are also available as full size patterns.
These designs can be tinted with crayons, inks, or textile paints. They can be outline stitch embroidered, appliquéd or finished in Redwork.
All sales are final on CD’s with designs copyright by Sew Vintage Memories. Defective or damaged CD’s will be replaced at no additional charge.
My books on a CD are designs for hand embroidery. They are in jpeg format; they are not designs that you can stitch out with your embroidery machine.
This auction is for hand embroidery designs, instructions, and photos on a compact disc. You may then view and print the items you would like to work on. Many hours are spent reproducing these designs. I work from the actual design or a scanned image in order to reproduce the design lines as close as possible to the originals. I use Adobe Photoshop to clean up any obvious unrelated lines or spots---not 100% perfect but as close as I want to spend time on. Print out as 8.5 x 11 designs on paper or printer fabric or enlarge the design using the poster setting on your printer program. The cd contains the designs, color guide or pictures of the originals, if available, and my instructions for tinting, embroidery and applique.
The designs can be worked in embroidery only, or tinted with crayons/ink/fabric paints and then embroidered. Most of the designs on my cds can also be appliqued. If you trace the design to fabric using a Pigma Micron pen, no embroidering is needed!
Thank you for visiting my auction and hopefully you will find something that tickles your fancy! Please have a look at my other auctions; I combine shipping on multiple wins!

The majority of my designs were not made from out of print transfers but were traced from the original stamped linens released between September 1, 1926 and September 1, 1952, as per my ephemera collection used to date the items. They entered the public domain between September 1, 1926 and September 1, 1952.
The Royal Society catalogs used to date the vintage linens were copyright September 1, 1926, the company ceased operations in the 1930's and research indicates that there was no copyright renewal before December 31, 1976. Research indicates that the antique/vintage pillow tops/ coverlets/ bedspreads/linens used to draft my designs were sold without a notice of copyright on the linen or instruction/pamphlet/catalog and entered the public domain upon release. They do not infringe on any copyright laws. There was no notice of copyright on the vintage transfers/instructions/catalogs used to make the designs that were not traced directly from a vintage/antique linen.
None of the items were released in 1972 or later and the content of my books and CDs are copyrighted by me and may not be copied or distributed in any form.
If a copyright originally secured before January 1, 1964, was not renewed at the proper time, copyright protection expired at the end of the 28th calendar year of the copyright and could not be restored. Copyrighted catalogs used to date my linens were issued January 1, 1923 - December 31, 1963, many of the companies no longer exist and research indicates the copyright was not extended before December 31, 1976.
My research indicates that the patterns offered by Sew Vintage Memories are within the Public Domain. If anyone knows of any that are not, please send me documentation and I will remove the pattern in question.
