The Zrubna cultural-historical community is an ethnocultural formation of the Late Bronze Age (XVIII-XII centuries BC), spread across the steppe and forest-steppe belt of Eastern Europe from the Urals in the east to the Dnipro River in the west, from the Kama River and the right tributaries of the Oka to north to the Azov-Black Sea steppes in the south.   The term "community" means that the population at that time had a number of common traditions, but due to the large territory of settlement, interaction with other ethno-cultural groups in different regions, there were few specific cultural traditions.   The pioneer of log culture is V. O. Gorodtsov, who in 1901-1903, during the research of barrow antiquities in Siverskyi Dinets, turned his attention to burials in wooden frames - log cabins. It was due to the structural features of the burial structure that the culture he distinguished was called the log house.   The concept of the origin of culture from the Poltavka monuments of the Zavolzhye region and its migration at a late stage was developed in the mid-50s of the 20th century. O. O. Kryvtsova-Hrakova. In the 1970s, M. Ya. Merpert and E. M. Chernykh turned their attention to local differences within the log culture and introduced the concept of "log cultural-historical community", which reflected its cultural diversity. In the 1990s, V. V. Otroshchenko developed the concept of the development of a log cultural-historical community from the Sintashta, Dono-Volga Abashev, Babin cultures and monuments of the Middle Volga in the process of their ethno-cultural interaction.   The population was engaged in cattle breeding, agriculture, and bronze metallurgy. Lived in settlements on the banks of small rivers. Bronze tools and ornaments (knives, awls, bracelets, etc.), clay pot-shaped and sharp-edged ware with geometric ornamentation, crossed-out drawings and signs were used.   The funeral rite is burial in barrows. Grave pits are covered with blocks or logs. The dead were laid in a crouched position, more often on the left side, with the hands in front of the face. There are known cases of cremation.
