A rare Elizabethan religious imprint “The ensamples of Vertue and Vice gathered oute of holye scripture” by Nicolas Hanape, Patriarch of Jerusalem , “Very necessarye for all Christian men and women to loke upon”, “englished” by Thomas Paynell. Printed in 1561. A copy of the title page accompanies each leaf.

Beautiful early printing shortly after the reign of Queen Mary who banned such religious expression.

This leaf entitled “Of Unyte" and "Discorde". Interesting text.
