Seller: braver*grace (2,116) 100%, Location: Bristol, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 291837517406 Reclaimed vintage brass item with cast iron fixing plate and screw-on knob.I am really not quite sure what it is - perhaps it was designed to hold two parts of a door together, or perhaps it was purely decorative. The cast iron plate has two screw holes to fix it to something (presumably a door?).One of these holes is currently blocked by an old screw-head.There is also a central hole, for fitting the front (threaded) knob to a small screw. This holds the brass plate to the backing plate. Overall size 9" x 3.5" ( 23 cm x 9 cm) approx. Weight 640g. Condition Antique item, in need of a little work before it could be used. The brass part is basically intact, but it has several dents from long use, and there is a small hole in the side, possibly from damage when it was removed. The cast iron backing plate is very rusty. One of the two fixing holes is blocked - it looks as if the screw head has broken off and is stuck in the hole. This would obviously need to be removed before you could fix it. The little screw that holds the brass knob in place (and holds the front and back together) is rusty and may need replacement. The washer is also bent and rusty. Please see photographs. *********************** Postage UK buyers: Second class post (first class or Special Delivery also available, but they cost a bit more).
