Vintage Ship Clock. By United Clock Corp. Brooklyn New York.
This unique clock was purchased at an estate auction in Missouri. There were several antique clocks bringing in the hundreds and thousands. My father and I run the auction company and he does not believe in using the internet or taking credit cards period. I got this clock as one of the things I must have started a little too high. Someone offered to purchase it after the auction but I brought it back to Indiana because I feel it was worth more than what I paid. Good luck on bidding.
Furthermore, it is beautiful beyond words. It appears to be all there and the front says United Self Starting. I did notice a chip out of one of the back feet, but that is all for a clock this old that seems pretty remarkable.
The back says Use on a.c. current only 60 cycle - 115 volt - 2w. Manufactured Exclusively by United Clock Corp. Brooklyn, New York. Model No. 810
The body is made of entirely wood and the sails are metal with string hanging from them as you can see in the pictures.
Found a few similar to this on Ebay but not exactly like this one. Again it is unique. Thanks for checking it out.
It was wrapped in an old silk scarf, so that's the way I'll box it. Scarf might be worth as much as the boat?
Thanks Again D.J.
