You are bidding on a beautiful vintage, original art nouveau china luncheon plate produced by English china company Royal Doulton.
The plates are decorated and signed by Robert Allen, who was a highly regarded pattern designer and artist for many years at Royal Doulton.
Collectors out there will be pleased to find this set in wonderful condition and each plate signed and dated c1906.
The luncheon plate feature a rose & forget-me-not pattern with gold gilding and a green foliage band to the centre.
Condition:
Good used vintage condition commensurate for age and use. The gilding, colour and pattern is still very good. No discolouration, crazing, cracks or chips to any. Some scratches here and there to the surface, pictured. Still lovely after 100 years plus!
A prized, collectable set for high tea or display....

Founded in 1815, Royal Doulton has an enviable reputation for producing fine china. This was recognised in 1901 when the company was bestowed a Royal Warrant of Appointment. Designs and pattern are numerous and Royal Doulton employed many artists for their creations which range from tableware to vases, toilets, bottles, figurines and much more...
Robert Allen joined Royal Doulton in the 1870s and earned his reputation as a distinguished ceramic artist. He operated a successful design studio under his own name and produced numerous patterns and designs for Royal Doulton. He finally retired in the 1920s.
An excerpt from his obituary: Of the many talented pottery artists of the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries and amongst these Robert Allen will assuredly retain an abiding place.
Anyone who is fortunate enough to possess a signed piece of Royal Doulton ware decorated by Allen will know how to appraise it, one feels sure.
