Seller: pennantique (3,514) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 272465331906 Penn Antique Restoration Antique Arts & Crafts Double Pocket Door Set w/Pulls, Locks, Key, & Screws Lovely, original, complete, double pocket door set made by "Norwalk Lock Co." of Norwalk, CT during the late 1800's. The set consists of 4 brass pulls, 2 steel mortise locks w/brass faceplates and 1 working key, and the 12 installation screws to fasten the part to the doors. All brass parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast brass not flimsy, stamped, pressed, or wrought brass or brass-plated steel. We removed the set from a pair of solid chestnut (very rare), Victorian, pocket doors that we salvaged from an old farmhouse in Southeastern PA. At the point of salvage, all parts were covered with paint, and they were very dirty and heavily tarnished (see last photo). Since then, we've removed the paint, and cleaned and polished all parts to the best of our ability. The beauty and quality of the set is only matched by it's superb condition! All parts are in great shape with only the typical nicks and light scratches that you would expect to find on 100+ year old door hardware. There is a small piece that broke off of the side of one of the lock bodies (the black-painted portion). However, the break has no bearing on the lock's function nor will will be visible once the lock is installed inside of the door. The internal parts of the locks were removed, cleaned, and put back. Now, the locks function smoothly. The edge pulls from within the locks spring forth when you push the buttons on the faceplates. We also modified a key to operate the lock with the keyhole, and we could make more for $15/key--email us after the auction if you're interested. Beautiful, complete pocket door sets like this one don't come around very often, and they don't tend to stick around when they do--don't miss out!
