This is a wonderfully carved and turned pair of painted columns from the Victorian Era. They have amazing features from head to toe. Traces of red, blue and green paint, possibly the red being the original color. The columns are solid wood and were found in Virginia and date to somewhere in the late 1800's. Interesting enough the columns are 1 1/5" different in height. The column on the left in the photos is 101.5" tall and the one on the right 103" tall. The diameter of each column not including the two wooden pieces at the bottom is 6" in diameter.
One side of the columns is better than the other and there are some of the small round buttons missing about mid way up the column. They are in very sturdy condition.
